Salary: The salary for this role will be £19,650 per annum (£25,168 full time equivalent). This is at the rate of £12.10 per hour, which is equivalent to £13.56 including holiday pay.

Brighton College is seeking to appoint a Lifeguard on a full-time basis
Reporting to: Head of Sports and Science Facilities
Main purpose of the role: The primary purpose of this post is to take responsibility for the safety of swimming pool users. We are seeking to appoint a Lifeguard on a full-time and permanent basis, to work during term-time only.
General Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintain a constant surveillance of pool users and recognise and react to signs of danger
- Explaining and enforcing rules, regulations and policies to ensure safety of pool users
- Ability to remain calm in emergency situations
- Carry out emergency rescues and treatments until medical staff arrive
- Provide a professional and friendly welcome to all users
- Promote and provide an environment that is clean, safe and comfortable for all users
- Ensure timetables sessions are set up and cleared away promptly
- Cleaning duties as required on a day-to-day basis to achieve the highest standards of presentation, supported by the Cleaning team
- Assist with sports equipment set ups and supervise activities
- Be familiar with the Colleges Health & Safety Policy and its application to all site facilities
- Any other reasonable management request
Essential Training Needed:
Applicants need to have an up-to-date National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ).

Hours of Work:
40 hours per week split over seven days, which will include early, late and weekend shifts.
Holidays:
Holiday entitlement is included in the salary for this role. All holiday is to be taken outside of the working weeks.
